It is my sad duty to announce that The West End Players have officially disbanded.
This decision comes from the existing founding members, Chris Cognetta and myself. This decision was not an easy one and was brought about primarily due to our schedules and the lack of funding to produce shows and secure performance space.
Despite the problems we have suffered through, including a rather sporatic performance schedule, I am extremely proud of the work we have done and of the dedication from our various cast members.

I would like to thank the following people for allowing us time and space in their respective theatres: Joe Dickinson of the Pocket Sandwich Theatre, Valerie Brogan of Teatro Dallas and Dean Armstrong of El Centro College.

I would also like to thank Kevin Thrasher and Linda Kelch for all their hard work and for sticking with us through it all.

Lastly, I'd like to thank my friend and co-founder Chris, who always made time for it and worked harder than anyone. His dedication to the troupe, not to mention the financial burden he placed on himself was selfless. His efforts are greatly appreciated by me, if not by others.

Even though the West End players are no more, there is always the chance we will begin again someday. If and/or when it happens, I will make note of it here.

Thank you for your time and patronage,
Bill Otstott
Artistic Director

UPDATE! We're not quite dead yet. Chris is currently working his ass off to resurrect the troupe.
When we resume, it will be as Out of Pocket Productions. The plan is to rework Death of a Novelty Salesman and produce it on the 10th Anniversary of the original.
In addition, we will be attempting more new shows in various locations throughout the Dallas area.
To quote Al Pacino in Godfather III, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"
Ok, I'm going willingly.

The West End Players is a local thater troupe that was founded in the fall of 1995 by Bill Otstott, Chris Cognetta, Shawn Currie & Laurie Christian. To date, we have produced sketch comedy shows, full-length plays (including the World Premier of a new play) and murder mystery dinner theatre.

As Artistic Director, my involvement in the troupe includes: Acting, Writing, Directing, Publicity Design, Maintaining the patron database and helping to oversee all other aspects of the running of the company.

We have performed at such venues as The Pocket Sandwich Theatre, Teatro Dallas, Pazzo Mente and El Centro College.
